The third cohort of the MQE celebrated their successful end of studies

The third cohort of the MQE celebrated their successful end of studies during the Munich Graduate School of Economics (MGSE) Annual Opening and Closing Ceremony on Oct. 14, 2021 (online event).

During the Ceremony, two MQE students were awarded the following prices:

lea_fricke.jpgMs. Lea Fricke was conferred the price for the best master degree of her cohort 2019 by the Volkswirte Alumni Club. The topic of her master thesis was: „Tagging and Optimal Income Taxation: An Application to Income-Contingent Student Loans". For her MQE research paper she worked together with Professors Clemens Fuest and Dominik Sachs on: „Who should bear the burden of COVID-19 related fiscal pressure? An optimal income taxation perspective“. Lea Fricke moved on to become a PhD student at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, at the Chair of Macroeconomics and Public Finance.

 

paula_patzelt.jpgMs. Paula Patzelt was conferred the research award „Anita Augspurg" for an outstanding scientific master thesis of a female student in the cohort 2021 by the Dept. of Economics, LMU and tws partners. The topic of her master thesis was:"The Sovereign-Bank-Corporate Nexus and the COVID-19 Crisis in the Eurozone“. Paula Patzelt continues her career as a PhD student at the London School of Economics (LSE). Her main field of research is macroeconomics.


We congratulate Lea and Paula and wish them the best for their future careers!

In addition, various other students of the MQE cohort of 2019 received prices or scholarships before or during their studies at LMU, among them two Max-Weber Scholarships awarded by the Elitenetzwerk Bayern.
